A Quick Look at Quotation in SAP:
In SAP’s In-House Repair process, quotations are used when a customer must first approve repair costs before any service begins. This step ensures transparency and gives customers the option to accept or reject the repair proposal.
Creating a Repair Quotation
Using the Perform Prechecks app, you can initiate the quotation step. SAP lets you:
- Create a repair quotation with a cost estimate.
- Create a fixed price repair quotation for predictable pricing.
- Add the object to an existing quotation (if it’s part of the same in-house repair case).
Once done, the repair object’s status changes to Quotation, and the document is linked to its transaction history.
Why It Matters
This step locks in customer approval and provides clarity on pricing. It also adds a layer of control to the service process, helping avoid disputes and delays.
Final Thoughts
Think of this as SAP’s way of managing “pre-approval” before repairs begin—streamlining communication, compliance, and billing.
